Siren of the Reptile World: The panther chameleon
'Panther Chameleons are one of the 57 species of chameleons endemic to madagascar. They range across the northern, tropical half of the country. they may also be found on a small island called runion (300 miles east of madagascar.) Panther chameleons live in a warm habitat with high humidity or rainfall. male panther chameleons can range from about 20 to 24 inches bigger then the female who gets about 10 to 13 inches. Male panther chameleons are more colorful and brighter then females. typically a male panther will have a vibrant white stripe across their bodies. Their are over 10 different color morphs of a panther chameleon even including a "Pink Panther" coloration. with a pink body and blue vertical bars and tangerine eye turrests! When buying a panther chameleon they are usually wild caught adults. whether some can adapt to captivitey well other may have a harder time. Which makes panther chameleons a more experiance type of reptile. But they are a little more adaptable then other types of chameleons that are wild caught. But before buying make sure you don't just get them for the color. (which makes most people call these species "the Siren of the reptile world.) but make sure you know your facts!
