Sunbeam Snakes

Sunbeam snakes are a species that i have never heard of before, once I saw them in the magazine i was thilled be the iridescence of it's scales. I liked this article because it was about a type of snake that i have never heard of before. And it added a new species to my list. The snake caught my attention and this article mentioned everything there needs to be known. In the article i learned about the colors of the snake, like it's underside. and if put in a good source of like the iridescence shine and scatter across it's body. This type of snake is a ground dwelling snake that likes to spend most of it's time underground. eating amphibians, lizards, small mammals and even other snakes! Although the snake is very charming, it is not well known in captivity. If found in captivity they are probably wild caught, or even imported. But most do stnot live long due to the amount of stress that could be caused by handeling or locked in an improper environmental condition. I would buy one of these snakes if they wern't to prone to stress. If they are your type you could find a sunbeam snake for about 50 dollars at generalexotics.com.
